All pupils, whatever their needs, are welcome at Montem. All our staff are trained, skilled and thoughtful practitioners. We have years of experience in supporting pupils and parents with special needs and disabilities. We pride ourselves on ensuring all are welcome and all are understood as individuals.

Our school is co-located with an oustanding special school, Samuel Rhodes Primary. We work very closely with them, sharing an ethos of care and inclusion that benefits all our pupils. The fact that we have ready access to their resources and expertise is a huge benefit for our pupils with special needs. 

Our teachers work closely with parents, our very experienced Special Needs Coordinator (SENDCo), as well as a broad range of specialist outside agencies to make sure that children with special needs and disabilities are fully included and make excellent progress. We adhere to the SEND Code of Practice. We will talk to you honestly and openly, and listen to you, every step of the way.

If you are concerned that your child may have a special need, please speak to us. If we have concerns about your child, we will talk to you. As with all pupils, the better we collaborate, the better we will meet your child’s needs.
