As a community school we are an integral part of the community we serve.
We see it as the role of the school to work with the children and their families as well as the wider community.
Our work with families is broad and varied. We run sessions and courses to support parents in supporting their children. This can be through workshops or longer courses. Working in partnership with other organisations such as Save the Children and CAMHS enables us to offer a wide range of programmes including parenting programmes. In addition, our dedicated School Home Support worker provides individual advice and support to parents on issues such as bedtime routines, housing, benefits, as well as coffee mornings on a diverse range of subjects.
We benefit from co-location with Samuel Rhodes Primary Department, a special school for children with moderate learning difficulties, who occupy the top floor of the building and share many of our facilities. Partnership working with the school is beneficial for children from both schools.
Hornsey Road Children’s Centre is situated right next door. This means that families can also benefit from the wide range of services they offer.
